9mm vs shotgun please only for experts to answer

I read some replies on threads that said you should use hollow points for 9mm. Why so is using lower velocity ammo not effective for ctb? What about shotguns I'd be using 00 buck which I believe is around 1300 fps. I'd appreciate good replies. P.s I'm aiming for the heart

Alright so my understanding is the bigger the bullet & higher the velocity = The deeper the penetration, bigger the exit wound if there is one, more damage to the impact site & blood loss.

Hollow points break apart on impact inside the target while FMJ is a solid piece of metal, this means there is more surrounding tissue damage with the first type.

A lower velocity or smaller round such as .22 has a lower likelihood of being a clean fatal kill in one shot due to it not being able to rip though a body so easily.

With the shotgun you can go with big buckshot, 00 or 000 or a slug round. A slug is one piece while buckshot is loads of metal ball bearings.

The preference for a round that essentially shatters inside the body is extra damage to surrounding areas, more likelihood of hitting surrounding arteries; organs & faster blood loss.

I'd go for the head over heart but your choice, head being just behind the ear & up a bit, temple on side above cheek bone or back of the skull where bone mass is thinner.

Have you seen the videos of shotgun suicides? It literally blows your head in half or completely off most of the time

This is 1600 fps 00 buckshot for a 12 gauge shotgun. Higher speed better imo. I guess if I aim for my heart and hit it that would kill me . Should go through the ribs .

This company has 2800 fps buckshot but it's 0 buckshot not 00.

Slapshot also has a 3000 fps 12 gauge slug. Wonder which of these would have a better chance of destroying or better blowing up my head from the side ? Or the heart . Just want the most certain way to end this nightmare

The hollow point does not affect velocity, however it expands upon impact thus making the area of damage caused by the bullet larger.

If using a 9mm then I'd go with hollow points. Hollow points cause more internal damage. A full metal jacket (fmj) will have better penetration but a smaller diameter wound channel with less internal damage.

If using a 12 gauge and I was set on a heart shot then I'd go with slugs. Buckshot would probably work too but if those small pellets hit a rib (good possibility) they may get deflected enough to change trajectory and end up who knows where inside your torso. A good slug would cause devastating damage through the chest.

Personally I'd go with 12 gauge and a head shot (just never under the chin!). But if set on a heart shot then I'd go with the 12 gauge.
Look at the diameter of a 12 gauge slug compared to a 9mm. Massive difference in size of bullet and also in the wound channel. You can live thru a 9mm to the chest if it misses vital organs. If a slug misses vital organs the massive wound channel would cause hemorrhaging and death.

A heart shot is painful, and you will remain conscious longer than needed. Just aim for your brain (right under your chin), and you will die instantly.

If you want to not get brain damaged then shoot your brain stem, you can look up photos of where it is, if you put the gun to your ear and shoot it you will 100% die, no living or brain damage, just death and it will be painless too. Everyone who gets brain damage from a gun does so because they aim from the chin up, not to the ear which what kills

And I've heard pipe in mouth is the way to go. Everything else has the flinch risk

Make sure the pipe is angled to the roof of your mouth, in front of your tonsils, that's to hit the brain stem

Shotguns are gonna be more effective. But if you use a 9mm you'll wanna get +p+ JHP rounds. Underwood ammo makes 124gr 9mm +p+ ammo that's moving at 1300FPS. I own some and it'll make a watermelon disappear. If you can't get +p+ ammo I'd go with a shotgun with hollow point hardcast slugs.
