• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Not exactly the most recent news but...

An 83-year-old woman in the Spanish region of Aragon died by suicide over the weekend after her euthanasia application was left unprocessed for months.
M**fckrs!

This kind of indoctrinated people keep on extending other people suffering.

They made her break her bones and die in this public setting.

She offered to willingly take herself out of the pension pool in a private way . Now the Spanish government will suffer the consequences of this public suicide

It seems the evaluation panel didnt authorise it.conscientiously objecting is a dilemma. Drs save people but they fear consequences by allowing peoplento die!. She did did not have terminal disease but like so many people, including me, I live with pain and sickness that medicine is unable to properly control. Its tragic that the lady had to resort to this. I suppose NYT wouldn't be interested in a story like this but behind every life is a story of life and despair. I've read many story's locally to me. One man was turned down for life saving treatment because NHS couldn't afford it. A young couple, not far from me lost their young son and the grief was too much. They jumped off a cliff holding hands. The body of their young son was found in a ruck sack the man was carrying. You see its easy to make newslines but there s heartbreak story behind each one..

But it's ok, they'll still think they saved her! This f*cking stupid world, or rather, the majority of humans that inhabit it.

Conscientiously objected !. Maybe it would help if doctors were indemnified from blame. Quality of life is important but the lady presumably had none. I hope her dignity remained.

people will always die. that is a fact of life. we should be working to make those deaths better and more peaceful

people will always ctb. that is also a fact of life. by removing access to peaceful methods, they are not stopping suicides, they are stopping peaceful suicides.

It really is cruel how she was denied a peaceful exit, and was expected to just suffer. I wish we lived in a more compassionate society where the right to die is respected.

When, when will this nightmare stop?

Sometimes I think that if animals magically started talking and going to work, they would quickly be denied of euthanasia. Just as humans.

Fortunately change has been happening at a previously unforeseen rate due to technology so I expect we'll be moving more and more out of the dark age with each passing decade. I think euthanasia will be more accepted within a decade at least for the elderly. We will probably have to wait a few more at least for no-questions-asked euthanasia but that will inevitably come to. People set in their ways are hard to change.

While it is horrible that this poor lady had to resort to this, I hope her death is not in vain. This was a protest death for better end of life options. She died a martyr for the cause.
