Four more weeks till I turn 21 and can be allowed into the firing range without a parent/guardian. Man I want to get fake ID so bad to get in early but obviously if I get caught the consequences are severe, so I'm not gonna do it. God, I can't wait for this pain to be over... at least gun is one of the most reliable ways to do it.

Damn, I never thought of that. I wonder if they do background checks to let you use the range? I just got a new 5 year prohibition on firearms because of a week psych hold. If that's not enough, I have an old felony from 2004.

Aren't the employees there trained to stop you from shooting yourself or others? There's a higher chance you will mess up and there will be severe consequences. Is there a reason you can't just buy a gun and CTB privately?

Thanks to the wonderful state of Illinois which requires a FOID card there's no guarantee I'll even be able to get one. Wish it was easy enough to move out of this craphole but that would probably take too much effort and would be too slow. And I had a "voluntary" hold back in October which already ruined my life and chances enough to get one probably.

Was planning to make it part of a vacation trip. Fly back to states. Uber to gun range for pre-scheduled appointment. Had sent over credentials in advance. Perhaps have some fun target shooting. Then done.

Springfield XDM, 9mm. In mouth towards brainstem. Practiced with phone-level app on a small construction/right angle in front of mirror to get the right angle so wouldn't have to fiddle around with it when at the range.

Quite calm with it even now. When things are right again... I'll be ready. Now it would be too much of an inconvenience to everyone.

When I was talked out killing myself. The other person, who was older and had a time limit as well... told me... "2 weeks becomes 2 months becomes 2 years... and so it goes." It was another person that was suicidal and had a plan as well, but on a longer scale.

Just keep in mind that when doing it on the spot, there can be some ... unplanned nerve that you need to be aware of. Also, make sure to do it so the bullet is 100% not hitting anyone else, so towards the range?? Idk.

I wish you the best of luck, too bad you have to wait if you want to go now. I bought my own gun this year to do it, I can't wait either, but unfortunately I have to wait to use it as well for a bit. Peaceful journey

Agree. For some reason though, thoughts of that plan and going through the motions (tilt until touches particular point on roof of mouth, deep breath, pull trigger) is the most peaceful thought to me most days.

I'll keep in mind the through and through.. it will be concrete/cinderblock behind me and monitoring is from a station near entrance and video cameras. Will keep in mind options to space out and avoid bystander injuries/witnesses.
