People say to get a scale because it can vary some- some is more powdery than others. A good scale on amazon costs $10. You can test it with a nickel, which weighs exactly 5 grams. I think I saw a post where it might have been about 1.5 tablespoons for one grade of sn, but I think there are different grades. I would order a scale if possible.I'd suggest ordering a scale, if not though here's a pic.
