10th September is World Suicide Prevention Day

How can we celebrate that? I think maybe SaSu could join such a celebration for sure. I am pretty confident they also share the pro-choice philosophy when it comes to suicide. Autonomous individuals you know.

This post isn't serious. I expressed my thoughts on suicide myriads times in this forum in-depth. It needs a common sense approach. Help people in temporary crisis to make rational decisions. But respect people that say enough is enough. Of course the discussion is way more intricate. I am just annoyed by the superficial media contributions to this topic that feel for me like a total hypocrisy. Easing one's guilty conscience thinking about this topic like 10 minutes once per year. Sharing suicide Hotlines to feel like a moral hero.

I've said in the other threads... There are things going on where I live, sponsored by a place I used to work, and people I know who know my state of mind and plans... and I have heard nothing from them. I'm not blaming anyone... I'm just saying, they aren't even doing a really good job of pretending from my perspective, much less actually doing.

My guess is they placed the date right before 9/11 so people don't get crazy ideas again. that's my conspiracy.

I think besides all the moral pandering that's bombarded, this day can do a lot of good too. Some people would benefit from some hope, or less taboo, some empathy, or reminders that it is worth it to at least get some help if they can, to not leave without at least trying it. And some people need that and do better later on thanks to it.
The rest and most of today is theatrics yeah, simplistic convenient narratives, but if a bit of it helps anyone, hey I'd say that's good.

Instead of an official day, I'd rather have affordable healthcare. I'd rather be able to speak to a professional psychologist and/or a therapist and not have to spend thousands of dollars out of pocket. Instead, I go to a clinic where all I do is spin my wheels.

National Suicide Prevention Day is cute. But there are many of us who will die today because the system is pushing us to the brink.
