It's like suicide victims see, know, and understand that life is bad, life is bullshit, life is terrible, life is stupid, life is hard, life is expensive, life is cold, life is cruel, life is painful, life is sad, life is pointless, life is unfair, life is dangerous. We evolved into trying to preserve our life as much as we can. When a person chooses to take their own life, which is against self preservation, it means that this person has suffered so much and can no longer keep going.

as a pro choice person, it should be our choice

many reasons (these are some i came up with on the spot)

scared of death (it's unknown and that's scary aswell)
their friends and family would be impacted by their death
their life is good
their life has the possibility of being good
everyone tells them to keep trying
pets
no suicide resources
they wanna uplift the world or friends or family

Because whatever troubled them became too much for them to cope with. The fear of more life became strong enough to push them beyond the fear of death.

Interesting you used the phrase: 'victim' of suicide though OP. I know it's a fairly classic term. I find it interesting/ contadictory though. Can we be a 'victim' of something we chose to free us? I'd say, we more fell foul of being 'victim' to an unfair life that drove us to want to escape it. Being a 'victim' is also passive whereas, I'd say suicide is a very active and powerful decision.

It also distresses me when people argue we are all victims of our own (unstable) minds- because we chose suicide. Some of course will argue that they are in fact suffering mentally but, that doesn't have to mean the decision stems from madness. I'd argue that within the mentally sound and ill, suicide can be a rational decision because we simply can't find a way to improve our lives significantly enough.

Given what you wrote OP, I doubt you do see suicide as a crazy or ill considered act. It's interesting though- don't you think? How we can easily adopt the more pro-life language that seeks to put suicide in a certain light. One that illuminates those who chose suicide as vulnerable, unthinking 'victims', rather than someone who thought about their life and prospects and, made a choice.

Because they see no other way out. Because for many it is better to die a painful death, if only not to remain in this world for a second longer. Because the thirst for death can be so strong that a person cannot think of anything else. If life brings only suffering, then the choice is obvious. Various circumstances can push a person to this step

Because existence is the most futile, torturous and dreadful abomination that just causes harm and suffering with no limit as to how much one can be tortured, for me wanting death is a response to existence itself and I'd just always prefer to not exist than suffer so unnecessarily, I'd just never wish to suffer in this existence rather all I want is to not exist.

For me non-existence is the only peace and is just all I hope for, I just want to never suffer ever again and I suffer so much from being burdened with this existence, existence to me just feels like a mistake and I find it the most terrible tragedy how this existence was imposed, I'd just always prefer to peacefully not exist than suffer in this existence so unnecessarily just to be tortured by old age and die anyway, the thought of suffering for so long is unbearable for me, I always find it so deeply undesirable to exist.

Personally, I'm just tired. And it feels like I'll never cure my depression. So I'll always be in pain and always be fucking up any relationship I get into. I don't want to be alone. I know everyone says being alone is the best thing ever, but it's not to me.

So I guess people kill themselves because of treatment-resistant depression and loneliness. Well some people do.
