Where can I hide my sn without buying anything?

I'm very trapped due to illness and have little money, making it actually tricky to afford a locked safe or a fake hollow book or any other clever idea unfortunately.

Very soon I can buy a safe or something but rn my sn is already at the ups and I want to pick it up soon b4 they return to sender.
So what are some ideas for hiding it without buying something? in-plain–sight ideas, special kind of container, will my sn be ok if I hide it in dirt outside, etc...

You cannot hide it outside, it needs to be somewhere at a stable temperature indoors.

if you already got books you could carve them out and glue the sides to make a hollow book safe yourself.

I live with my parents (and they have a history of getting nosy about stuff in my bedroom) and I have decided that I will hide my SN (once I, hopefully, get my hands on it) in an old console box I'm hiding in a cupboard under my bed. My parents rarely check that cupboard and, if they do, they never mess with console boxes, since they can contain fragile stuff or cables etc.

There are still solid low cost ways to hide SN without needing to buy anything fancy. Hiding it outside isn't ideal unless you've got a truly airtight and waterproof setup (like a jar or vacuum sealed bag inside a weatherproof container), and even then moisture and temperature shifts can mess with the compound over time. Inside is safer. I personally would never hide SN outside.

Some easy in plain sight options are like reusing an old medication bottle (just make sure it's clean and dry, and don't throw out the label), or tuck the packet inside a sock or rolled up clothing in a drawer people don't go through. You can also use food containers like an empty tea tin, instant coffee jar, or even a cereal box. If you have a stack of boring papers or envelopes lying around, slip it in between or hide it under loose leaf sheets in a folder or binder. Empty toiletry bottles, like old shampoo or vitamin containers, can work well too just clean and dry them thoroughly.

The main thing is keeping it dry and cool. Avoid bathrooms or anywhere with humidity.

that is quite smart, I like that. It's basically a decoy.
I think I've hidden it in a good place. it's powdery and white and basic-looking, so I took an old jar of acrylic gloss and took off that label. then I removed the 'sodium nitrite dangerous blah blah' label and replaced it with the acrylic one. now it looks like a basic bottle of paint supplies. Then I hid it behind an unopened box of colored acrylics in a very out-of-the-way, unnoticeable cabinet, which is also filled with other art junk and art supplies.

so its very unlikely to be found, and if the cabinet is searched somehow, the person will just gloss over it because it blends in, or will feel awkward about taking it.

I hope that sounds good! Hopefully I can leave it like that for a few days/1-2 weeks until I can get a locked combination safe + key.
put it inside a computer speaker you don't use.
or until I can test it of course.

don't have one, but I just wrote my hiding spot on this thread so you can let me know what you think if you want.

It's good enough, I guess
Wouldn't it be overkill to buy a safe to just store sn?
The moment someone gets a safe, most people want to know what's inside it

I would get one with both the combination lock into key, so even if the combination lock was guessed – they'd have to find the key first
