After seeing the comments on my previous poll I got inspired to do this one. What's your ideal xmas? Do you like to celebrate with close ones or prefer to be alone? Or maybe you just celebrate with ur pets or online friends?
I have an idyllic childhood memory of a family Christmas. But these days they've all changed and that's no longer possible. I'd just as soon spend the time in isolation.
My mother lives in a different city, but she's traveling to my house for Christmas. A Carol gathering already visited her house and sang some songs. When she comes over, we'll have some good cake and food. We'll be doing the same for New Year as well, since she'll be staying here for a week. It'll be good,it's been a long time since I've seen her.
That's pretty much it. That's pretty much what my ideal Christmas is like. Someone I can have a good time with and talk to, but also be comfortable around.
I go to my Catholic church on Christmas eve to help people find their way around and make them feel welcome. It can be tough for families with small children and visitors who are unfamiliar so I want to help. Then I go again on Christmas morning to attend Mass and authentically observe Christ's Mass. Before I started doing that, I stayed home and slept basically. And before that (I've been around for a while), I was a Jehovah's Witness and went knocking on people's doors to preach to them. One guy shouted at me all the way down the street and it finally started to sink in how outrageously annoying I was to bother people on Christmas like that.
