This isn't a normal issue but because I have debilitating insomnia, it happens more than it should:

I regularly am up for 20+ hours every other night, especially if it's a particularly stressful day-week.

I have been up for well over 40-46+ hours on multiple occasions, & one time, nearly 50hrs. I thought I was going insane.

After the 32-36hr mark I will hallucinate, & that's the point where it becomes even harder to try to sleep. Once I do sleep, I'm usually out for a solid 13-16hrs.

It's a terrible cycle. I suffer from night terrors & so when I can sleep, I have very broken up sleep - not very well rested ever.

I've had many sleep medications, & even meds for my night terrors. Trazodone was the most effective but made waking up awful - & when it didn't work, it would cause a very unwanted, uncomfortable high where I couldn't remember much. Weed helps, & I smoke it semi-regularly & take large breaks - but it makes me very drowsy the next day, & so I tend to just raw-dog trying to sleep.

I can't afford sleep meds anymore, & so now I just smoke if I'm desperate for rest, or hope I can just crash after being up 20+ hours if I'm lucky. My partner helps sometimes, I've learned if someone is rubbing my back/neck it makes me sleepy sometimes which was cool to learn & helpful for when I'm desperate for rest.
I have been awake for 16 hours trying to reset my sleep schedule after failing many times to do so and i already feel like shit ☠️ whats the longest youve stayed awake?
If you're trying to do a hard-reset of your circadian rhythm - if you don't have insomnia - staying awake when you shouldn't probably isn't very healthy for you. If your body is used to having normal sleep (avg. 8-9hrs of sleep a night on a regular schedule) it's gonna be really hard to change it.

Depends too, are you going from a 'normal' sleep schedule to overnights type deal? My friend works 10pm-6am & he tends to sleep at around 2pm-3pm & 'staying up' for him is between 4pm-6pm

before i got meds for insomnia i would be awake for three or four days and then go into a dead sleep for about 12 hours and repeat that cycle. my meds make waking up fucking awful but its better than being conscious for 72+ hours at a time

Hmmm, well- due to work, I've worked a day, all night and best part of the next day on a few occasions- so maybe 36ish hours. Maybe a bit longer. Yeah- not good and it gets harder as you get older- it takes longer to recover.

I had a crazy project once over two weeks where I got very little sleep consecutive nights ending with no sleep at the end. I fell asleep on the tube and when I woke up- everyone was looking at me. Must have either snored or dribbled- maybe both! 🤤😴

Feel awful for you though. I'm nowhere near an insomniac but I do go through phases where I struggle with sleep and it's awful.

Recently as in a couple days ago over 40 hours. Had to call a doc because I was so altered. They sent for sleep meds in 2 min. I've had longer times before but this time it got bad to the point it become sleep psychosis.

a little over 5 days consecutively. Tried sleeping multiple times, took pills, and exercised a lot throughout that time but couldn't exhaust myself enough to fall asleep.

probably 2 or 3 days involuntarily but I got a lot done and had fun and once it was over and I finally slept the sleep was actually more satisfying that a regular night of rest

Maybe a bit over 30h? Usually i just fall asleep by accident when trying to reset my sleep schedule but somehow it always resets after like a 12hr sleep, which is horribly long but i dont mind it.

2-3 days because of stress, might of even reached 4 days. My memory of that time is really foggy but I do remember hallucinating.
