Help What's the difference between chat and conversation?

I see both but I only know what conversation is. what is the difference if there is any?

conversation actually has notifications
conversations function more like the forum

chat has one notification when you start the chat
chat is more instant messaging

Conversation starts a forum like mode between you and the user

Chat is just instant messaging back and forth
