The answer probably depends on how much effort the hacker will put into it.
In my case I don't think there is a need for a hacker. Yesterday I posted a thread where I let grokAI let create profile of me based on my SaSu posts.

It was interesting but at the same time scary how accurate the AI chatbot was. I think obviously it is a breach of privacy rights but grok doesn't care. It gives me the feeling that AI chatbots make it a lot easier to create targeted profiles of individuals. And the people in private chats give even more intimate insights.

Why this question from the title? Well I experienced another dating failure at least I have another interesting dating anecdote to tell. I had a date with an autistic (female) IT student. And then we talked about hacking. I know that there is something like ethical hacking and sometimes institutions have to do offensive hacking in order to defend themselves. I told her I know someone that told me that someone else I know works for an intelligence service. By the way if you think you could get more information from me about this person I have to disappoint you. I don't know much about this person mostly the job only. The woman I dated was a little bit irritated. She asked me how I know that and usually this should be kept secret. I told her noone told me it was a secret. But I admitted now when I think about it it is weird that the person shared it. From the reaction of her and I asked her the following explicitly. She didn't give me an answer but in some ways this had a telling implication. The woman I dated had aspirations to work for an intelligence service herself. She considered the person I told her about as someone who seemingly boasts about it. The woman I had a date with always seemed to me really paranoid. Not necessarily in the pathological sense I myself had a psychosis. But I considered it possible that she had a psychosis in the past. She turned out to have autism and ADHD. So we continued to talk about hacking. And she told me if she were willed to do something illegal she could hack me to find more information about me online. And retrospectively this made me paranoid. What if she finds out my SaSu account. Lol. I think this would be a red flag. However, I think it is extremely unlikely that she tried to hack me. I think the risk for her would be way too high for the potential reward. Moreover, she doesn't know much about me. We had extremely deep conversations but we didn't exchange much personal information that could identify us. I wonder whether she was this paranoid because of a past experience. Her ex boyfriend sounded pretty much like an asshole I wonder why she was in a relationship with him. I tend to think sometimes women are drawn to toxic personality types. (sunk cost fallacy maybe - toxic people can hide this real personality at early stages of a relationship. I wonder whether I would become toxic too in a long relationship)

I think there isn't that much personal information about me on the internet. Besides my SaSu account. Though, I think as the AI chatbot proved this is a massive digital footprint. Though, I will never be able to work anyway. Furthermore, I could imagine that this forum gets wiped one day from the internet and most of the content will be deleted even in digital archives.

I think modern hacking is in most cases more social engeneering. And she even didn't ask for any personal information of that kind.

Now this is such an INTERESTING question!

You are SO intelligent! I LOVE it so much!

Now me? Well. I am 70 years old, live in the Midwest of the U.S., very long career that was VERY fulfilling, no family, actually no one, straight up and that before the age of 18, I have ZERO history.

The one overriding factor that I have been privileged to have been exposed to is this: that globally we are ALL in this together and if we as a species are going to survive long term, we better get our heads out of our butts and WORK TOGETHER.

I have worked with so very many people across the globe and 2 aspects stand out, 1) we all want a better tomorrow for ourselves and 2) our loved ones.

We WILL evolve or we WILL be like the dinosaurs and be gone. After 440 or so years here and never ever evolving ever, they were replaced and so will we be.

I LOVE everyone everywhere, let's make it so we ALL move forward.

Walter

I imagine most people would have a fair amount about them online. Whether they put it there intentionally or not. Think of how many things are online now- medical records, shopping accounts, social media. Plus, many of us will create profiles to try to find work. I imagine it's rarer not to have an online presence these days.

As for the person who works in intelligence- I imagine a lot of people know of someone who has something to do with it. I'm not sure that giving that much away is a huge breach of security. It's unlikely even their family know the intricracies of what they do though. I wonder if they are told how much they can reveal.

'White hat hackers' I find fascinating. It feels almost a noble pursuit when they track down criminals. I wonder if it is even illegal if you commission the person to find out about you. Probably though- if they are illegally accessing material. There've been funny YouTube experiements when they have experiemented hiring private investigators. I think one setup was to hire two to investigate each other. Lol. Following one another must have been confusing!

I have a close person to me who is in the field, and if they wanted to hack me, oh boy they'd have an easy time.

It's nice to have someone like that to watch over me, thanks to them, my opsec has been getting better, but it is still imperfect. In all honesty, we are all at the wits of hackers. A lot of people's only reason for not getting hacked is because no hacker wanted to hack them. It really isn't hard to hack an average joe. Security breaches, public information, old posts.
