Planning ctb letters or announcements to humans is one thing, but lately I've been struggling with how to convey this information to my two (abnormally and excessively affectionate) cats. I know they will be well taken care of when I'm gone, but the idea of them thinking I abandoned them is (unfortunately not literally) killing me.

My plan is SN. If I let the cats in the room with me to cuddle while it set in, would they understand that I'd died and not wonder where I went? I'd love to have them for company, but would that be more traumatic for them than me closing the door and being gone forever? How do cats handle death? (Please no jokes about them eating my dead body, thank you 🙏)

Are your pets part of your ctb plan?

That makes me so sad to read. My cats are also super affectionate, and I live alone with them. I wouldn't trust anyone else to take care of them so they are literally what keeps me around. I couldn't bear to hurt them. I often think about what would happen if I got into an accident or something and died away from home. Would they think I abandoned them? Ugh I just can't.
I wish I had something helpful for you… just hugs and know you're a beautiful person for caring about your kitties like that.

I truly want to keep my cat for company. Does anyone know if a SN body poses any threat to a cat?

The alternative is doing it in a hotel, but in both scenarios I'd leave her a lot of bowls with water and food. I know for certain she wouldn't be alone for long and will be cared for.

I don't know man. The problem is they might just send him/her to the pound and if no one takes of them. If no one picks them up from the pound then they'll probably just euthanize them. It's probably best to just stay with your cat until they eventually pass away. After that it's your opinion on whether or not to self-delete.

Not always as simple as that unfortunately. Life circumstances doesnt always afford us the luxury of being able to stay around. But yes noted re the pound. That is a nightmare scenario I need to avoid.

I do have someone who's agreed to tale them and provision in my will. But its how they are handled when authorities find me (and them) are found that concerns me. I cant figure how to ensure they dont end up in the pound without the person who's going to care for them being informed.

I'm also concerned about the remnants of SN solutions and meds left around tho. Like what if you have second cup not drunk? They could get into that. Super dangerous I think. But yes would love them with me. Not sure its realistic though. And maybe harrowing for them too.
