A long, thick cable is what I'd go with. The ones you get at a normal computer supply shop.

I have a 1/2" braided rope, do you think this would work for full suspension? Workload is 300lbs+, I weight about 180.

This is the rope I'll be using when the time comes. This precise type of rope was actually recommended in the Hanging Megathread here! It's nautical grade, 11mm polyester. It's very flexible and almost silky smooth to the touch. I've already make a slipknot and tested it (with my hand, I haven't tested it with an anchor point yet) but it certainly feels like the correct thickness. The thickness is the most important aspect with a hanging rope - too thin and it will cut into the throat and be very painful, too thick and it won't properly tighten around the arteries. From what I've tested, this rope is definitely doing what it's supposed to do to my arteries.
