Sodium nitrite causes increased methemoglobin, resulting in systemic hypoxia, metabolic acidosis, and cyanosis. I'd imagine any/all of these "conditions" would result in the body taking measures to correct the abnormalities, which would result in systemic acute inflammation, most likely producing all-over pain for the subject. Theoretically, the ibuprofen could help alleviate some of that pain before the subject finally succumbs and falls unconscious. Whether it works, or not?
