please just free me and let me die

So I read through the non-methods thread, along with several other threads on the forum. I'm finding out that basically almost every method, not even guns are guaranteed to kill. Hell, even some people are reporting that SN and N (and even fentanyl) are slow and uncomfortable.

Are there even any methods to die quick and painlessly? I'm eager to ctb, have been for years, but apparently every single method will involve in a lot of pain and time and by the end of the day I'm too much of a coward for that. How does ODing even work anyways? I've tried several times in the past and I'm still here while somehow others have managed to die by ODing. Is it about the combination of meds? Why is it so hard to kill myself?

pretty much almost all of the methods you mentioned are going to work if you follow the procedure it's just a few minutes of discomfort but you can find ways to reduce the discomfort for example you can take benzos after sn don't really know how it works with fentanyl tho
and gun to brainstem is instant/near-instant death and even if you missed the loss of blood will probably kill you
i think ods on regular/otc meds isn't going to work so you'll have a find substitute or stronger medication that can do the job i think there are threads about this on the resource compilation sticky

Edit: shortened for practical purposes

OD's generally do not work, that's why it's listed with the non methods. I'm going with nitrogen & I expect no pain, though it does take some time & planning.

No method is foolproof. One can misfire a gun and, say, graze their frontal lobe (which isn't as crucial as eg. a brainstem). One can throw SN/N up despite taking AEs. One can rip off their exit bag, crush their windpipe instead of carotids and panic-claw their way out.

But then, some are more likely to happen. Generally, medication ODs and plant CTBs are non methods - the former heavily depends on the substance, and most people don't have the access to meds that can cause certain and fast CTB. I'd say there's also a risk of throwing up and absorbing way less medication than its LD.

From the vids I watched, SN with meto and benzos seem pretty peaceful. Allegedly inert gases don't hurt, but at my attempt I panicked - perhaps my bag was too small and it started clinging on to my face.

ODs generally don't work, true, but that single digit success percentage (which is why it's listed as a non-method) is highly misleading.

When people say ODs rarely work, they are referring to all ODs - which, since things like OTC or non-lethal pills are so easily accessible and easy to consume, it leads to a lot of people just impulsively downing whatever is on hand and 99% of the time is not going to work.

That includes stuff like Tylenol, aspirin, benadryl - even prescription stuff that has no chance to work.

So saying "only 6% of ODs are successful", or whatever the stat is, really isn't telling us much because it includes countless case reports of people taking a handful of Tylenol or something.

It's good for harm reduction, no doubt, but if you have the right types of meds/drugs, ODs can absolutely work reliably.

OP: Here's the general disclaimer:

In regards to methods, you can choose 2 of the following attributes and no more than 2:

FAST
PAINLESS
RELIABLE

If you take your time and put in the effort reading these forums, there are indeed a few reliable and painless methods discussed here.

My method is N2O, combined with an cuff device that inflates to block only the sides of my neck. The cuff device is almost certainly overkill, but I need to be 1000% certain this is a 1 way trip.

I've been thinking the same thing, I swear you don't realize how hard it is to die until you become suicidal.

Death will always have some level of uncomfortable feelings and pain unfortunately.

The closest thing to painless death is N, but that is gone now

This is true, however the brain is responsible for keeping us alive, and it needs oxygen and glucose to function. Even minor drops in O2 levels can lead to disastrous results, ie., ctb.
