Okay so often when someone is prescribed new meds, they have to be watched closely because it increases the chances that they will actually go through with suicide. At least that's what I've heard. I tried sertraline but that did nothing (and since that was given to me during my psych stay, being closely monitored was a given.)

Now I'm wondering, what ssri/antipsychotic/whatever is "best" for this? Is there a specific one that has the highest risk of kicking my ass into gear? Are they all a similar risk level? Or is this something that differs between people?

Don't most anti-psychotic meds dull you down or calm you? I don't think they can be used for an adrenaline rush to go ahead and ctb... Benzos may actually calm your nerves if you want to attempt though.

Not necessarily an adrenaline rush I believe, just that they give you the the energy needed for it? I don't know, I was just listing all the types that a psychiatrist would prescribe, don't know which one actually requires close monitoring.

Do you know if there is one that sticks out?

I've heard of Prozac tipping people over the edge quite a few times. My personal experience with it wasn't very severe. I was just mad all the time when I was on it and I was extremely paranoid. Lexapro and Luvox also did that to me. Soooo many SSRIs can cause suicidal thoughts and/or other symptoms. It'll also depend on any other meds you're taking, the amount you're taking, how much sleep you get, and your overall well-being. Medications don't work the same for everyone though so, you may have a different experience. Before you rule a med off as "not working", take it for at least a month. If it still isn't doing what you want, ask to get the dosage upped or a totally different prescription if you feel like that'd be better.

Just to chime yes anti depressants and antipsychotics can cause suicidal ideation and manic behaviour though it is relatively rare. Xanax also causes a lot of murders and suicides it induces a trance like state of rage, I've blacked out on xans many times and ended up hurting people or my self.

I would say it's a bad idea to look for intoxicants to motivate you, unfortunately ctb has to be monotonously planned in this society and you will have a higher chance of failing if you can't control yourself. I so wish we weren't treated so badly that we have to consider things like this. I hope you can find peace anyhow.
