What is your comfort food?

Hello, this is my first post! My question is Whats your comfort food? a meal that makes you at peace, brings back childhood memories, makes you feel safe or even happy. Mine is chili relleno. My abuela used to make it all the time when i was a child. No one can make it better as her, and it makes me happy and doesnt make me worry. I understand that food can make people unhappy in general, but if you had to choose whats your comfort food?

Packed noodles, the spicy variety. I would put extra chili peppers and crush them, oyster sauce, diced cabbages, and egg. l You know what, I'm gonna make myself some.

Empanadas, mangoes, pulla bread…Thanksgiving sandwichs from this specific place near me, Spanish tortilla…

The first year I freed myself from my father, I had just moved into a new apartment and that Thanksgiving, I ate chicken flavor ramen and some cranberry sauce. I didn't have much since I was unable to get the bulk of my belongings from the prison that is my fathers house. My budged was super tight BUT…I was free from the physical and verbal abuse.

Well worth it.



I took a photo of it to remember that time in my life and to appreciate the freedom, the escape from abuse. I didn't think I'd be able get away from him, but I did

Pho, Khao Piek and Khao Poon! but usually they take too long to make for myself so second options that are also considered comfort food are bread with butter and sugar, and rice with soysauce and/or with egg.

I'm the weird kid who loves chowing on powdered milk. Our local brand (Bear Brand) is hella sweet and it just brings me back to the days where I was 4 years old without any worry in the world, just me and my glass of milk that has more milk than water lol.
