Life is a means to an end.
In this quiet corner of the galaxy, where the Sun's energy arrives steadily and slowly, a phenomenon emerged that accelerates its consumption. A dead Earth would be a mirror, reflecting light back into space. Life is the opposite: a mechanism to capture that energy, transform it into living matter, and dissipate it faster as heat and decay.
Plants, animals, ecosystems—all are cogs in this machine of degradation. But humanity is the pinnacle of the process. We are not content with the Sun's energy captured in the present. We dig underground to burn ancient forests turned into coal. We split atoms. We turn mountains into waste and oceans into acid. Every advance of civilization—agriculture, industry, technology—is merely a more efficient method for converting ordered resources into universal disorder. Progress is a name for the acceleration of entropy.
The condition of being alive is that of a system in deficit, always needing more fuel. Hunger, thirst, desire, fear—these are the impulses that keep the organism moving, consuming. Human consciousness is not an escape from this condition. It is the consequence of having used fire and developed agriculture, which gave us more energy to think. Neurons that observed the world had so much energy and availability that they began to look inward. Perhaps that was humanity's fall, the moment we ate the fruit of knowledge instead of just the fruit of the tree of life. We opened our eyes and perceived our condition as slaves to basic needs. Perhaps that is where religions arose, this attempt to re-connect with the whole (with God). We began to envy animals, which live only in the moment, and projected ourselves into a future that is nebulous. It is no coincidence that the earliest religions were animistic and used animal symbols. The very alphabet we use is based on drawings of animals, but simplified, as in A = Aleph (ox). We work to eat, we reproduce to continue the cycle, because we always project a need into the future. So we do everything to have more abundance, but that only raises the bar, because desire is never satisfied. As long as there is entropy and wear, true satiation is impossible.
We are not a plague. We are a consequence. Supernova explosions dissipate energy violently and rapidly in the macrocosm. We do the same, in slow motion, in the microcosm. Life, especially conscious life, is merely the complex and tortuous form that energy dissipation takes in a quiet place.
Life is nothing special. We are not going anywhere. The most we can do is enjoy the moment, even knowing that the next moment may be unpleasant or the end.
While there is life, there is weariness and pain, and happiness is mere relief. Those who seek total fulfillment are, deep down, seeking death without realizing it, because what defines life is movement, and all movement arises from a lack that makes us seek something to satisfy us, whether physically or emotionally. All life continues as long as there is a will to continue or until the body can no longer bear the wear. If you are going through an absurdly crushing burden, there is no reason to carry so much weight. We never asked to be born; we will not find anything after life, because something in the afterlife is, again, an abstraction of the human mind, by all indications. We can only imagine an afterlife because we are alive—just as, for a fish, everything is water, that's how it is for those who are alive; even the afterlife boils down to life.

This is such a very underrated/underappreciated *DEEP*, profound, thoughtful, existential, & philosophical post!

Once in a blue moon, it's extremely very RARE (even almost non-existent!) to see/read posts like this, on this website/forum online.

Deepest respect from Indonesia~
