  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I honestly found some truth to what she was saying. At least about myself. What do you guys think?? Is it possible for your trauma to have made you a better person?? And maybe a little stronger than you realize??

Also, I wasn't exactly sure where to put this. If I picked the wrong spot, then "sorry" to the mods. Feel free to move it where it belongs. Thanks!

I agree to an extent. I've heard from different people that they find my ability to calm others and be serene is a likely product of my environment growing up.

Losing (and almost losing) classmates in secondary school brought me empathy

Being homeless and hungry brought me resourcefulness and responsibility

But... those haven't made me stronger or a confident fighter for myself. One would think that getting through the rough bits would make one strong. But not so much in my case.

There's a sweet Japanese movie called "All the long nights" where the boss in an office (a side plot character) shows a lot of empathy dealing with the staff, including the leads who both have issues. It's implied that the boss lost his brother to CTB long ago. I do think being hurt or experiencing loss enhances one's awareness of others.

Thanks for the nice post!
