Discussion What do you fall asleep to?

Do you put stuff on to fall asleep to like music, a video, rain sounds, podcast, etc? For me, I always listen to my music to fall asleep.

sometimes when it's super late and I can't sleep, I'll put on a video of someone ranting (think peeps like Degenerocity) to lull me to sleep. I used Degenerocity as the example since I've watched his videos so many times that they've become relaxing since I vaguely know what's going to happen next

i usually sleep in silence now but sometimes ill set up an old caseoh or markiplier vid to get sleepy, then turn it off

i don't listen to anything. i pray before sleeping and fall asleep laying there thinking about whatever is on my mind. i'm usually replaying conversations and memories in my head or making up new ones.

i struggle to fall asleep to music or anything like that, but i've found one artist i find quite helpful to sleep to (Supersize me). their music is rlly beautiful in its own right but i find somehow it helps me quite a lot to sleep if i play either of their albums from my phone at a low enough volume to where i can only just about make any of it out, i think being unable to grasp anything too well is what makes it easier to sleep to. just enough sound to block out too intense thinking but nothing you can focus on enough to be distracting.

Rain sounds. Almost always the same thing. I figure the repetition ought to make my brain realise I want it to go into sleep mode.

I cycle the same ~10 Minecraft videos. The predictability provides me with comfort. It's become an inside joke with my girlfriend.

Near-death experience account audios. They're the most consoling things I can listen to. It comforts me to know my consciousness survives physical death. I live on in a very peaceful realm with no negativity, no concerns, no judgments... only pure, unconditional love.

On Audible: Cape cod national seashore & the atlantic. Beats everything I've found on youtube. Perfect areal recording that sounds lik.e you are really there.

This may sound a bit silly, but I usually watch/listen to toy review/unboxing videos to help me drift off to sleep. I have a few that I watch that happen to be calming. Here's one just as an example. This person's voice combined with the crinkling/clicking plastic sounds is very oddly soothing to me, like when I listen to it it feels as if my head is being massaged. These kinds of videos usually send me to sleep fairly quickly. My only complaint is that I wish he wouldn't clear his throat during the recording:

Depends on my mood. Sometimes it is lofi and sometimes it is a youtube video/podcast with talking.

for the last 3 years or so i've been falling asleep to horror story narrations, mostly from 4chan. the 2 channels i watch mainly are T6 and tetsuya on youtube. T6 has said that he wont focus on making new narrations though. which is unfortunate because this was the channel that introduced me to this type of content

Normally I put on ASMR, but given that I can only fall asleep from exhaustion I start off with that and switch to my playlist of many videos if I get frustrated.. whether it's music, documentaries, more asmr, etc.. I just let it ride out. Anything as long as it's not just pure silence or noise in the house.

I'm so dumb.. I read that as Tetrahydrocannabinol&Cocaine and was like: ''No way AM made a song with that name and I don't know it''. So I looked it up and realized what you meant, lol. I remember vividly when that album came out, was so excited to listen to it; It was right in my second year of high school and I was attracted to a girl who came to school wearing a AM shirt. Seeing that ''realease date 2018'' hit me like a ton of bricks.
