What do you do on Christmas?

Do you spend it with family or spend it alone? Are you spending it witb friends or do you not celebrate it at all? For me I am spending it with my family.

This will be my first Christmas seperated from my family and two sons. So I honestly think I'm done with the tradition and Holidays in general. I only ever participated for the sake of everyone else anyways. So there's nothing left but mindless commercialism for me to indulge in now and I think I'll pass on that.

I spend it with my husband. The next day, he travels to the US to be with his family. I feel like he wants to be with them for the entire time, and I must force myself to be "happy-ish".

This year I plan to meet up with my professional cuddler. Will be paying her $100 an hour for her to let me hold her in my arms. i wish she was my real friend and she let me hold her all night long without charge

I normally spend it with my immediate family and day drink. I'm not really a Christmas person anymore but since this is my last time seeing my family before catching the bus I'm going to try and enjoy it for their sake.

Either I ctb before Christmas (unlikely) or I will definitely go see family on Christmas. It's also the only day of the year where my immediate circle of friends gets together with everyone present; that might also change soon, since some are starting families etc and ofc I might ctb. Damn this is sad to think about.

I can't imagine how lonely some of you must feel when there's literally no one to spend the holidays with and my heart goes out to you. If you send me your address via pm I'd send you a SS postcard lol :-(

It'll be my last Christmas, so I must as well enjoy it the best I can! I am with another family for Christmas and really far from home, and that's very comforting. I don't celebrate Christmas with my family, I haven't for years. I just got to Mass and take a looping bus for hours until it terminates. Hopefully my last will be nice, and all you's Christmasses too.

I am going to spend x mas by myself. It´s not the first time without family, a few times I managed to have to work and had a good excuse. But since I am not feeling that good lately I resigned a couple of weeks ago so..

Anyway my family is pretty complicated (guess we had nearly every family fight during the holidays, with the outcome that for example my brothers haven't been talking for more than two years with each other and so on ) and I know it´s going to be tense due to the issues that many family members are having with each other..i won´t go in further details but I do really like to escape that shit-show.

Nevertheless I am worried cause I am at a very bad place currently so..yes I am aware of the a lot of good reasons (mentioned above) not to join my sickening family. But i am still scared it´s going to fuck me up some more. A friend of mine also offered to stay at their house with their flat mates. First I thought it to be a good idea but since I am mentally not stable I don´t know how to act around people I am not that familiar with…

And I also deiced I won't give Christmas that much power. It's just three days..and it´s turned over in a silly pretending tradition within my family. And on a larger scale it's the biggest capitalistic festival on earth. It has nothing to do with caring for another but pretending and making bucks..

Last Christmas was with my best friend at her house. We nearly don't speak for two months for unknown reasons. Cold to each other. We're both in different diffucult circumstances. But.. honestly i can't dig the matter while i barely survive. I'll be alone with my dad at our -once- family house i think. And take care of him since his sickness progressed, trying to stay sane.

Probably fend off demands from my parents to fly cross country to be with them. Then hear whist full sighs about how they wish we could be together. Which leaves me alone. As an extra torture for myself, I sometimes walk my dog through the neighborhood or to the park and see the "normal people" doing things with others, and generally enjoying themselves. It's like watching a movie from behind a window. Everyone living lives, and I'm just observing it from a distance. It's like I haunt the space I occupy, not live in it.

I just go to my mothers house. My siblings are usually there. We stopped exchanging gifts years ago. Basically we just all stare at each other for a few hours we are not a close family... the food ain't all that great either. I dread it every year.

Basically, I just do whatever I want to on that day, so it's almost the same as any other day. I'm just hoping my sister-in-law leaves me alone this year. I tried to be alone on Thanksgiving and she came over to my house uninvited and inserted herself into my day without asking me.

I used to buy presents for my dog and give him one at a time to open , the look on his face when he looked at all the treats and toys , anyway , he passed . I always wanted it to snow on Christmas day , I find it comforting somehow !
