I believe hollowpoint bullets are ideal.

I had 2 relatives ctb with guns. one used a hunting rifle the other a pistol, if I had no other options but to use a gun
i'd go with a 10 gauge shotgun. It leaves plenty of room for flinching . The barrel is easily shortened with a hacksaw since it is thinner do to not having rifling.

Awesome thanks. I just found out I might be able to legally get a shotgun after all so I'm looking into that.
