It's like the Black Mirror Episode (S04E02): Life will hit you hard, if you haven't become acquainted with "bad" things or even able to life your "life". I wouldn't want to live someone else's life. The bus stop seems reasonable.

By checking the comments it seems like she is a single mother, which explains such a major fuck-up.
