I keep backing out of partial hanging and it is extremely painful.
The knot doesn't sit on my neck properly either.
Every time I try placing it properly the knot goes to one side of the neck. I have tried different anchor knots like boom hitch, cloves hitch and snuggle hitch. None of them worked. I think it could be because of the way the noose knot is. Noose knot from https://www.animatedknots.com/. I am only able to stay on the rope for 3 seconds.
when I do test runs to see how quickly I pass out. I pass out within 10 seconds. I place my thumbs at the bottom of the neck beside the windpipe.
Anyone?

With my attempts I tighten the noose as much as I can around my neck and then put the knot at the back of my neck. Then when hanging on it, it usually stays in the back of my neck.

I imagine the mm of the rope, and the knot can effect if its painful though. You dont want it constricting the air pipe

First, you chose partial, which is extremely difficult to do unless you are at absolute rock bottom, entirely devoid of any hope whatsoever.

Second, more than likely you're constricting your windpipe, which is not, or at least shouldn't be, the goal of partial. You only want to constrict the carotid arteries. You need to insert "something" in between the rope and your carotid arteries (you need to first locate them) that allows the rope to only exert pressure on the carotids, and which keeps the rope from constricting the windpipe. People use cornhole bags, rolled-up socks, etc to accomplish this.

Is there a way to do partial without constricting the windpipe? And making in painless?

2 cm is too big, the bigger the rope, the more painful it is. Personally I will use a rope between 5mm and up to 8mm but no more, and yes a 5mm rope can do the job perfectly, many people hang themselves with shoe laces

arent ropes which are thin weak? shoe laces cant hold your weight for sure

There are many people who hang themselves with shoe laces yes, so it all depends on the strength of the lace but it can be enough. And a 5mm diameter rope can be enough, I have already suspended myself with all my weight (80kg) with a 5mm rope and it held perfectly, if the rope is braided and strong enough to support your weight in traction it will be enough, because in partial suspension, your weight rests partly on the ground which lightens the tensile load on the rope.
Obviously all this only works for partial suspension, for total suspension you will need a stronger rope.
