It is a crap physical design in my opinion... but I wonder how many people hate it because of Elon Musk's political leanings lately... and I wonder how many people don't love the design but buy it anyway because they like his leanings?
So many people make decisions not about how they really feel but how they think they are supposed to feel according to their peer group.
IF it was purely aesthetics, I would think this thing would have failed a long time ago... and then there are the technical failures of the vehicle itself to add to the mix... prettier car designs than this have failed spectacularly because initial reaction to the design was negative... but now politics has infiltrated everything and products can succeed or fail regardless of their performance IF enough people jump on the political bandwagon.
This is an ugly truck though... and seems wasteful design to boot for something that should have a more efficient design as an electric vehicle.
