• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

It is also important to format any devices or rid yourself of anything else that you wouldn't want other people looking into after your death, as police will investigate these (basic right of privacy).
How do I get rid of my devices? Can't think of anything apart from setting them on fire which will arouse attention.

Wiping devices apparently isn't enough.

Most phones and PCs have a factory reset button. That would be the go-to rather then setting them on fire.

I spoke to a cop and he said wiping the devices wasn't enough and they can still access the info

Unless the data is overwritten, it's still on there
Even if that's true, I highly doubt someone will go through the difficulty of accessing the formatted/deleted data.

I think they can do, a suicide is treated as an investigation. I was shocked when I looked into it but they're pretty intrusive into the deceased's life, just read some of the coroners reports above. It does depend on the country though.

Factory wipes are 100% possible to forensically recover. In fact, all commercial hardware has a is back door(able) ask any logic board electrical engineer.

Better option would to physically sledgehammer, torch and throw in a river.

My point is, is that REALISTICALLY, no one would bother to forensically recover a factory reset phone......
