Would a nylon strap like this be suitable for full suspension hanging?

I'll bump it for you. Idk. It may be strong enough, but the width *might* spread the force out too much, thereby not allowing enough compression on the arteries.

It is quite flat and thick..

If you can tie the noose knot well and get it to slide and compress very well, maybe it work.. Try it on your thigh and pull hard and see if it compresses and penetrates deep into the skin.

(The carotid arteries are deeper in the neck, and they are the ones that are targeted for blockage/compression. According to theory, 5 kg of weight is necessary)

I would prefer a rope, and not experiment so much. I know there are people in the videos who use all kinds of materials, but I personally prefer not to take any risks.
