Hello everyone, I am conducting an academic study on forensic psychology and risk factors in self-destructive behaviors. I was wondering if anyone here uses EndNote or similar tools to manage and organize scientific literature in this field.

Specifically, I would like to know:

How effective is EndNote in managing sources on multidisciplinary topics?

What are the best strategies for optimizing research and categorizing sources in forensic and psychological studies?

Are there better alternatives for this type of bibliographic analysis, especially for those working with scientific databases like PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science?

If anyone has experience using EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero, or other reference management software, I would love to hear your thoughts on the most useful features for organizing academic research in forensic and psychological fields.

Thank you in advance for any insights!

I use(d)e Endnote, do not have experience with others. I think it is quite convenient. Don't exactly know what you mean by organizing? I used it mainly to add references of different databases in one library and to filter duplicates.

Thanks for your response! I'm really interested in how you use EndNote to collect references and manage duplicates. When I talk about "organizing," I also mean creating thematic folders to separate studies on different aspects of the same topic, using tags or notes to highlight key studies, and linking citations to see common points. Have you ever used these features, or do you mainly focus on reference management? Also, do you find that EndNote works well with PubMed and Scopus, or have you encountered any limitations?

I used it mainly to manage my references (by importing and combining them from different databases). Worked okay for me, but could not filter all duplicates. However, I have only recently returned to the academia after 3 years. So my experience is a bit rusted…
