I was wondering what types of ropes are recommended for full suspension and partial hanging. I know that for full suspension manila 3/4 ropes and double braided dock line are recommended, and for partial hanging nylon and cotton ropes. Also the thickness of the ropes matter, the rope should be over 10 mm so that it's more comfortable around the neck. Could nylon and cotton ropes work for full suspension as well? Are there other informations that could be helpful for this?

Does anyone know if the types of ropes I mentioned are good or if there are other ropes recommended for this?

Bumping again. Come on people, there's a cool gal who needs help! I've heard double-braided (thumb thick) nylon cord mentioned, and have thought about mule-tape, which is also a very high tensile strength synthetic rope they use for all kinds of utility purposes. Anyone else have any ideas? Coolgal82 has been waiting patiently since December!

i am no expert in ropes but in my opinion you really don't have to overthink it. most ropes will work for hanging given they are strong enough to support your body weight and are not easily stretchable. just make sure you choose a strong rope and you know how to cut it.
