I'm thinking of throwing myself in front of a train. How likely is this to succeed rather than just disable myself. I've been to the train station a couple of times but met only with trains pulling into the station rather than high speed trains passing through

There are too many variables to jumping in front of a train, plus you'll be traumatizing the fuck out of the person driving it.

Careful, my neighbor tried that and survived. I guess the train was going slowly at the time.

You will likely ruin the train drivers life, and that of their families. They will see you. They will be unable to stop in time. They will feel you go under the train. They will almost certainly suffer long term mental illness, possibly becoming suicidal themselves, as a result of your actions.
Please don't ruin innocent people's lives. None of us has the right to do that.

you might have a slightly better chance at dying if your local train tracks are electrified, but it is still far too inconsistent and cruel a method to be realistic.

I mean, I get it. With how hard it is to end your own life, it's tempting to resort to extreme measures to get it done. I've thought about it, too. I've thought about other extreme measures as well. It's hard.

I've heard of just as many people surviving as people dying, so it's definitely not recommended.

Everything that I was going to offer was stated by others already:
  • Your odds of success are very limited.
  • Survival will likely result in permanent injury, i.e. paralysis, brain damage, etc.
  • You will permanently traumatize the person driving the train and anyone who witnesses your death.
Why do you feel that you you need such a grisly, terrible death?

Survival instinct will be immense. I had drunk 600ml of vodka and was deeply suicidal and still couldn't stay on the track once the train was within a hundred feet.

Took some pills and tried this too, but i was still to scared. At home I read 33% of attempts are failed/not deadly. Its to risky if the train is not fast enough and even then its not a good idea if you think of the driver and his family. I want to leave in a different way.
