does anyone else relates to this? I often feel that, redditors would call me all the bad "ists" possible due to how I actually see the world, while channers would call me a "cuck" and all slurs possible too.
it has felt for a long time before meeting this site as if I had no place I belonged, it's a weird limbo to be out when you feel rejected by both sides you know.

I don't get this opinion. Reddit is not 1 community. It is a place with thousands of communities, each about their own topic. How do you not fit in ANYWHERE on reddit? Unless you are being just a questionable person, why would anyone call you an "ist"? Hang out in the subs that reflect your opinions and likes and don't hang out in the ones that don't. It's simple.

Both communities suck ass, so I take this as a sign that you're not a POS.

I get what you mean. I'm trans, but also quite edgy, offensive and depressing. I'm too depressing for most trans communities, too offensive for the rest and too trans for those who would accept me for being depressing or offeensive.

I for one cannot use 4chan because its threads have a timed lifespan, and the UI is way too confusing. For all my life I've been a quiet lurker, and mostly in tiny places, so having that immense torrent of messages on 4chan is incomprehensible to me. (Although I do search 4chan archives for my 2 fetishes on /d/, and sometimes the latest American news on /pol/ (this one actually started with the coronavirus, and then the war (yes, I was reading 4chan for news about a war in my country because the Russian 2ch is even more confusing to me in its UI, and the lingo they use))).

But I fully understand being split! In my case, being a 1) pro-Russian 2) Anglophonic 3) Ukrainian adds even more schizophrenia to the mix, haha.

I get what you mean. I'm trans, but also quite edgy, offensive and depressing. I'm too depressing for most trans communities, too offensive for the rest and too trans for those who would accept me for being depressing or offeensive.
1. Nick Fuentes used to have that famous affair with a "catboy".
2. Gavin McInnes did unspeakable things on camera that one time.

(I'm not saying either of them is radical or even based, but I'm pretty sure there are plenty of edgy trans folk! Hell, there are historical pics of Nazis crossdressing! The right side of the force is a pathway to many things xd)

1. Even if they secretly are into trans people, they're still likely to publicly call for my death even if they want to fuck in private.
2. Femboys and trans people are different things, and you'd be surprised at the amount of hostility the two groups hold for each other. I've actually seen people unironically preach that femboys are less degenerate than trans people or preferable to them.
3. All of the above is irrelevant since it would just be a fetish to them anyway.
4. All of the above implies any level of support, rather than me just being told to 41%.

I honestly have no idea about such arcane differences, and no idea where to learn them (aside from... the Urban Dictionary?), so apologies.

And then there are crossdressers who are another kind entirely? I've seen them in the videos I watch, can be cute (although I'm 100% straight, unfortunately).

Well, I hate 99% of right-wingers, too, because they're mostly Christians, and I'm supposed to be a pagan. So being hated is familiar to me. Hell, incels hate me for my heterosexual fetishes (even got a 30% warning in November).

How do you not fit in ANYWHERE on reddit?
say an opinion that the vast majority disagree and you definitely getting banned from the community, and the entire site, even on the communities I took interest on, seems like everyone just has an extremely high ego that, on a little disagreement with them they will get offended and insult you.
4chan been washed and reddit only really good for porn
4chan has definitely been washed, reddit is not even that good for porn anymore tho honestly, most of the people posting on porn subs are just sellers trying to get you to join their of or smt.

thanks, I do see myself as a POS but for other reasons.

I'm not trans here but, yeah you 100% described the feeling here. Even in like, subcommunities on my own country like, I'm a music enjoyer and like, seems everyone that likes the same music as me is insufferable and will get offended by shit I say/my humor or outright insult me due to edginess, it really depresses me how politicized a lot of communities that had the same tastes as me (like anime for example) have become.

Unfortunately, most modern "social media" are geared more towards adertisers than community members. They prioritize standardized, short-form, attention-grabbing content that appeals to the lowest common denominator and can elicit strong emotions (be they positive or negative), over serious discussions. It is no wonder they have become a breeding ground for vanity and hypocrisy, a constant arena of battles for likes and followers where many kinds of dirty tactics can be used to put down opponents.

On the other hand, imageboards, with their enforced anonymity and almost complete lack of moderation, tend to attract primarily the same kind of people who write on bathroom walls, with similar sense of humor and overall content quality.

Fortunately, there are some websites that give much opportunity for self-expression without resulting in complete chaos. For example, DeviantArt has many different kinds of "-ists" that still manage to coexist somehow without ruining each other's experience. Another good place to find people with unusual interests might be Neocities and the whole "small web" (indie web) community (personal websites, webrings, forums, chats). Before Reddit, there were forum hosting websites with directories such as ProBoards and Forumotion. Many of them still exist. There also standalone forums on various subjects.

For a person with broad interests and an unconventional worldview, it is hard to find a single website to satisfy all your needs, but there are many interesting things on the Internet outside of major corporations' spheres of influence.

Agree 100% with this. Get out of the corporate, mainstream internet and do some honest exploration. Find some proper weirdos (and I mean that in the best way possible <3) that have similar interests to you. Or learn to make your own website and maybe somebody who likes what you've made will try to talk to you? Neocities is certainly a good place to start. Of course you should go try to find obscure forums too. I also like Wiby (the search engine). It's how I found this very forum!
