My suicidal thoughts had improved a bit, until all of these benefit changes announcements in the UK.

It's such a depressing place to live the vitrol from able bodied people directed at the disabled is sickening. I really don't want to be on this earth anymore, but I can't leave my son.

I'm going to be forced to work in a horrible job again, with bullying managers and co-workers. It would be nice to gas myself out of this misery, but I'm stuck here until I know he can look out for himself in this world. I love him so much, but at the same time, I wish I hadn't brought an innocent life into this vile, oppressive world.

They want to do large cuts on the disabled on the UK, so people will end up homeless.

Maybe I could buy a teepee and move to a warm climate, but even then I'd need a visa. They make it hard to leave unless you have lots of money. It's a prison.

They've even got the disabled people turning on other disabled people too. The scope disability forum is so depressing, all these disabled people care about is whether they will still get help, they don't give a shit about other people. Fuck this world and the selfish people in it.

That sounds like a nice place to live ❤️

I'm not on benefits but the government cutting welfare makes me so mad for people who rely on them just to live.
I know there are some people that abuse the system but for those that need them the money should be there.
Why cant they tax the rich more.
The amount of poverty in this country is awful, people having to use food banks just to eat all the while the fat cats at the top just get richer and richer.

It's horrible here isn't it. All run down places too. Yes, some people do and they spoil it for the genuine needy.

The food banks are shit here as well compared to other places like the US. Full of carbs and no fresh vegetables.

Should be more of a balanced diet. Its PIP the government are focusing on cutting if I'm remembering correctly?

PIP is my only source of income. If I lose PIP, I'm fucked, I got literally nothing. I don't even get Universal Credit despite not working, I got PIP when I was underage so my parents sorted that out for me, and having to deal with the Universal Credit system was too tiring for me.
I'm too mentally fucked to work. Fucked by the government to begin with, and then I gotta rely on them for money as a result of the damage that they did, and now they wanna take it away. Sometimes it honestly just feels like everything they do is to screw me, specifically, over.
If I was more mentally stable, I'd just fuck off to some other country. I got dual citizenship, I am an EU citizen, I don't have to fucking be here. But then again, if I was more mentally stable, I'd be able to work. Wouldn't be in this position.

Yes, and ESA and JSA. They're merging UC and PIP, and using the pip assessment to determine work capability. PIP is difficult to get as it is, but with the new 4 point requirement in one of the daily living areas it's going to make it really difficult for those with mental health issues to get, even those with mobility issues.

I've only had it for the past 2 years, I was doing OK in a remote job as a software developer. Then I moved to another company and it all went downhill from there. I had to leave because the workplace was awful. Really knocked my confidence.

I feel sick at the thought of going back into work, not sure if I could even go back to the same type of job either now. I've got dyspraxia and really bad anxiety.

I hear you ❤️, it's a vicious cycle. They want people to be in a state of anxiety and fear.
I've got scaffolding outside, good place to hang myself.

Some work places are just toxic and not manageable. I lone work so its bearable but dont know how long my company will last and I fear going to job interviews and working with others again ( social anxiety). Could you try looking for remote work again or are you not feeling up to it?

I get that too, it's awful ❤️. I'm going to try and have a look for something remote. But each time I look it makes my stomach churn.

I keep reading that the job market is bad ATM and that there's not many remote jobs. Which is frightening me, because that's the only way I could manage to work again.

I watched the news on the benefits cuts. Immediately thought about people on Sasu. As always, because of some rotten apples, innocent people pay. At the same time, remote jobs have been becoming a rarity. OP, you mentioned you worked in tech, that's where I'm seeing a lack of remote jobs - which makes no sense since it's a job one can do remotely 100%. It's incredibly annoying to see companies forcing people in an office for a job that doesn't require that.

There was word, som years ago, about the right to request remote work and companies not being able to refuse if it was proven that the work could be done remotely. However, that got scrapped because higher ups need the power trip of seeing their little employees all crammed in an office.
I think a lot of people would be able to work if work environments would allow remote working. It could be a game changer for so many people...yet, they make accessing jobs more difficult and force people into a position where they're entirely dependant on benefits. Then they make those benefits harder to access. IIRC, just the process of getting benefits can take months, sometimes years, and it is an uphill battle. Ironically, one needs to be "healthy enough" to have the strength to pursue them.

Sorry for the rant. I'm not on benefits but it revolts me to see injustice. People should be empowered to be self sufficient, not having the government cutting their wings...

Yes they do make it harder, but I can't ctb yet unfortunately because I have someone that depends on me. I just needed to vent.

I do have a law degree as well, so maybe I can look into doing something else eventually if I have too with that. So long as I can try and get the energy to do it..

I was going to write a post about it this very subject. I'm not going to last very long with these cuts. I get very little money as it is and have mental and mobility issues. I was concerned about the Labour Party but I never thought they would outdo the conservatives of being this nasty. A lot of disabled people will surely suffer and die from these cruel cuts alone, let alone the ones that were suicidal beforehand. I'm now on very borrowed time. This is the death Knell for me. I'll be glad when I'm gone! I just feel heart sick for the disabled people that want to live and have to deal with these evil bastards and their ruthless cuts to the most vulnerable people. 😞

Finland too. 🤗

Finland is not happy place at all. A few days ago I woke up to sounds from outside and someone had jumped from balcony of opposite building and died.

Finland does well on the happiness survey because there is a large mass of middle class people who are simply content with their middle class S-bonus lives.

But with the current very right-wing government that goes after the poor and disabled I think suicides will start to increase here.

People complained about bad jobs but here even a bad job has now 1000 applicants and only a couple are hired.

That's the atmosphere in Finland too for poor people and people with mental disorders. They say to seek help for suicidal thoughts but at the same time the system actively pushes people to those thoughts.
