Hello, as a citizen of the "World's Happiest Country", I'm curious what other denizens feel about news and studies like this.

To me, it's become abundantly clear that our country is nearly the exact opposite of how it presents itself to the world.

The employment situation? On paper, we're doing amazingly. In reality, the majority of unemployed people over here do not qualify for "unemployment", and are swiped under the rug. They do not count towards unemployed people, despite lacking, and in many cases, being unable to have a job.

Happiness? How do you really measure happiness? As is the case with many other statistics we present to the world, our ctb statistics aren't including people who, for example, overdosed with drugs (primarily alcohol).
Getting help for mental health is also a significant issue in most places, as all locations are full, or have queues so long they don't even bother.
Majority of those issues stem from our government not paying our surgeons, psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, first responders, etc, and instead only aims to have them overwork themselves to death.
This has resulted in many health care professionals quitting and moving over to other careers.
As response to that, our government wants to bind them to the career, so that even if they're not employed anymore, they have to, without an option, return to work.

These are just two issues.
Let's hear your opinions.

Sounds like the UK - the shitty aspects anyway, the UK doesn't have such a sparkly reputation I don't think. Sorry you're suffering ❤️

"America may be the best country, but that's like being the prettiest Denny's waitress. Just because you're the best doesn't mean you're good." - Doug Stanhope

I know America is not the happiest country (or generally considered the best), but can apply this same thinking to the so-called 'happiest country' or whatever else.
