I did my telehealth therapy and instead of doing our usual EMDR session I told him I had a rough week with slip ups in sobriety, hypomania, and impulsivity. We talked for the hour about everything under the sun, but at the ending I felt the urge to tell him (he knows I've been suicidal recently but nothing about having SN and a real desire), I said "It feels like I got knocked off my high horse and instead of getting up and brushing the dirt off, I'm just sitting and staying on the ground."
He then said "That is your voice of depression, saying 'What's the point? Everything is temporary, so why bother? That's the voice of.. well, death."
We both realized how awkward it was and it was perfect timing to schedule the next appointment before signing off.
