Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I was always a bad person in school, always getting low grades, never being able to pay attention and concentrate on anything. My GP says it's anxiety, but I'm pretty sure I have ADHD. But my doctor says no, I took 6 Ritalin pills and it didn't work. Does anyone know what I can do about this? or in case I have taken Ritalin and it has had no effect? This is literally ruining my life.

It might be better to see a mental health professional than a GP. Have you tried this?

It didn't just happen to me years ago at school, it happens to me everywhere, including when I was talking to the psychologist a year ago, I would get lost in the middle of the conversation. Also when I read books or when I watch series or movies.. I get upset.

I don't know if it's ADHD, I think so. I have never been able to do anything to solve it beyond not leaving things pending so as not to turn it around, but as the years go by it gets worse, it takes a lot of effort for me to pay attention to the things (including playing video games, they really drain me mentally).

A mi no només em passaba fa anys a l'escola, em passa a tot arreu, inclòs quan conversava amb el psicòleg fa un any, em perdía a mitja conversa. També quan llegía llibres o quan veig séries o películes.. em despisto.

No se si és TDAH, crec que si. Mai hi he pogut fer-hi res per sol·lucionar-ho més enllà de no deixar coses pendents per no donar-li voltes, pero segons van passant els anys va a pitjor, em costa molt d'esforç posar-hi atenció a les coses (inclòs jugar a videojocs, m'esgoten molt mentalment).

I haven't had the opportunity yet, I'm unemployed and without money, I'm going to try the Unified Health System in my country.

I understand, even if I read something that I'm interested in, or a game that I really like, it costs me a lot of my attention. I feel like crap for this.

You probably have both. In my case, I have ADHD and GAD. The two disorders were diagnosed at the same time, so it was difficult for me and my doctors to know what the baseline ADHD was, plus stimulants like Ritalin don't work properly in someone with anxiety, because they enhance certain effects adverse effects that impoverish concentration at a certain point. You should not forget that cognitive and behavioral phenomena are mostly multifactorial, and if you suffer from anxiety, and also ADHD, it will be difficult to take a treatment for your concentration. In my case, when anxiety improved, everything was better and I didn't even need medication, but I used strategies to alleviate my lack of concentration and my failures in executive functions, coming to feel quite satisfied with my academic performance. In ADHD, drug treatment is not always an option. I hope you can find an answer, and hopefully my experience will be of some use to you. Regards!
