I have often prayed to God asking for an end to my life. Pleading for me to pass away in my sleep.

I've heard it mentioned that these types of thoughts or prayers are an insult to God.

It is difficult for me to have faith in God due to all the suffering in the world. People (and other animals) suffer and die in horrendous ways every day.

Part of me wants to believe that there is a benevolent God or Gods. Some positive fiber that links everything together.

Believe it or not, that's exactly why I'm atheist. He never answered me or my prayers.
