Help Sodium Nitrite v Nitrate testing

If we are testing purity of SN with strips that can test nitrite or nitrate, how do we know its not sodium nitrate we have? So do we need to test it is indeed nitrite?

…I know there are some strips that only test nitrite but I cant get hold of them
