Story Sobriety Feels Great

I'm just shy of six months sober off of multiple substances, but mainly pills. I quit cold-turkey after years of using (due to a bad trip), and where I once thought sobriety was a hellish concept, I've found that for me, it's made being alive much easier, as much as past me would hate me for saying that haha. For some, drugs can work, and they did for me for a long time, but I'm grateful for sobriety. I can think more clearly, and I can be happy without being high, which is something I couldn't achieve for years. Nothing against users, as this is simply my own experience, but it feels nice to be able to share that I'm doing much better these days. It's nice to feel better.

substances are like a deal with the devil or something imo, feels good at first but comes at such a high price on every sense of the word

I'm trying to drastically reduce my THC usage. I made it 9 days before the insomnia won. I still use much less and it's been nice, I hope I can quit someday.

I can think more clearly

This was the big one for me after thirty plus years on the booze..

I did hit an under cover unknown low down 'delirium tremens' which seemed to last a long time ... and is still probably ticking over ... but in general , clearer thinking rocks .
