  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

About two weeks ago I started seeing odd things right after waking up. In my room I'd see furniture where it isn't. Like my closet in the center of the room or a shelf right above me (i tried touching the shelf but my hand went through.) I described this to my psychologist and therapists but they just seemed intrigued.

Now a few days ago I thought these hallucinations stopped but then I woke up to the sound of someone unlocking my door and I heard footsteps approaching and thought I saw a person peer around the corner. It was really scary and I was so happy that it wasn't real.

Today I woke up in the night due to a nightmare and woke up to see a little smiling boy, he walked around my bed and then through it, me and the wall. This one was less scary thankfully but still really odd.

I'm not sure how concerned about this I should be. Only one of them was really unpleasant. Has anyone had any similar experiences?

Details that might matter: I only see these things right after I wake up. It's always dark in my room when I wake up.

Since you mentioned you have sleep paralysis and those hallucinations happen only shortly after waking up, it might be because you're still half asleep or something. Sometimes the brain just does that. Did something traumatic happen to you recently, or have you been feeling stressed or depressed? That also might be the cause.
However, since I'm no doctor I'd recommend maybe going to a neurologist instead, since they might be able to help you more than a therapist, by checking if it might be a health issue.
Wishing you the best x

Sounds pretty disturbing and weird. As mob mentioned, maybe try finding a doctor instead to make sure you're ok. Did you try asking your psychologist/therapist outright what they think it is?

Sounds like an out of body experience. Think of it as a dream-like state.
I have not heard of any underlying health issues associated with it, while reading and experimenting with it over the years.

If you're interested, read up on 'lucid dreaming', 'out of body (OOB)', and 'Astral Projection'. People are trying hard to induce and control those conditions, with varying success.
You will find a bunch of religious and pseudo scientific interpretations of it, but don't discard the phenomena. The science of it is that those conditions exist, and that dreamlike states are weird. (Pretty much anything else is speculation and personal interpretation.)
