My friend is worried because she doesn't want to CTB, but sometimes she gets overwhelming temporary urges to do so. She gets scared because she has Angel's Trumpet in her yard. She doesn't want to kill it or ask the landlord to remove it, because it's very important to her to respect the tree's life. But she's worried she'll eat it impulsively at some point, and either die or create a horrible traumatizing crisis for her family. I was wondering if anyone here had ideas for possible safety measures.

Unfortunately, moving isn't really an option. She and her family have wanted to move for at least a year or so now, but have been unable to do so because of money and logistical issues.

The antidote appears to be physostigmine, but it appears it can only be applied at a hospital. There's activated charcoal which can mitigate the effects, but it's no guarantee. So that leaves calling an ambulance.

There doesn't appear to be any way to guarantee that she won't be able to eat it or that she'll at least have an effective antidote immediately on hand.... Do any of y'all have ideas or advice?

Damn,. Sorry I don't really have any advice for you on this... But from what I know it's more likely to cause delerium, hallucinations , discomfort, tachycardia , etc.... With fatalities being less common ( still possible).

At 1st I thought you were talking about a destroying angel ( Amanita) mushroom which I believe has accounted far more deaths compared to the Angels Trumpet.

Last thing... I do have 1st hand experience with the whole charcoal thing. Around 20 yrs ago I picked and tripped on magic mushrooms for the 1st time.... Thought my parents would be gone for awhile so I ate the 1.5g dried that I found. I ended up Tripping Balls to the walls when they came home unexpectedly early.. I ended up flipping out , so my brother ratted on me about mushrooms. Hospital / ICU came shortly after and my Fckn teeth / mouth were black for damn near a solid week.. what a damn Nightmare to say the Least.

Best wishes to you and your friend,. I hope she stays safe in whatever may happen.

I am getting mixed results for Angel Trumpet. It is difficult to measure how active the plant is. Or what the plant is, I originally assumed you were referencing Datura.

Personally, my concern would be them hurting someone else or harming themselves in a different way after the plant starts to work. Deliriants are highly unpredictable (even with calculated doses) and are usually a miserable experience.

I used to take deliriants for "fun" because of the horrific hallucinations (which are indistinguishable from reality). Most people are found doing embarrassing things and cannot recall anything afterwards.

You could let them know that there is a good chance of unintentionally harming someone. I do not have much else to offer besides reading a few trip reports and informing them about these possibilities. If people are around, they will definitely notice.

I hope you can persuade them against this idea... I wish the best for you and your friend.
