I am an American studying in Germany, and I have decided I want to attempt suicide using a full suspension hanging off a tree (no anchor points in my place, sadly). I'm also unfortunately rather hefty, clocking in at ~95-100kg (~210-220 lbs), and I do not want the rope to break under my weight. What type & thickness of rope would hold my weight, and which German stores could I get it from? Mailing is not an option as I live in a WG with people my age, so a proper store is actually ideal for me. Also, how long should the rope be?

If you plan to use a tree you should also read this guide:

Thank you, looks like a good rope! Do you have any recommendations on length? I assume 1 meter is a bit too short.

If you don´t know how high the branch of your tree is, you should rather have to much than to little length, at least 3 meters.

The branch I'm looking at is a bit under ~2x my height, and I am about 1.8m. The stores around me sell 5 and 10m ropes, so those are the ones I'm debating between.

5 m is sufficiant, but you need a ladder. You better don´t buy the rope and the ladder in the same store.

International student in Germany here! I am planning to go back to my country in an attempt to save myself. I think you can try the same just in case you feel better.

Is there something bad about being an international student in Germany? Not trying to be funny, just actually wondering.

Nah! It's just me who fucked up. But if you don't know German language, loneliness will be your constant companion. My degree and job is in English. So technically I don't need to learn German. But when it comes to socialising, I am doomed.
