Hello SaSu!

I'm the girl who made a thread regarding SN's bleach taste. I'm considering suicide™ again which got me pondering about my experience and I've come to the conclusion that something was off. So I have retried to mix 20 grams of SN (same batch) in a bit of water (maybe 50-75 ml) ; it smelled like nothing. I have tried tasting it (I only put a drop on my lips because I don't want to die today lol) ; .... and it tasted like salt water. Like salty enough to have a slight sweet aftertaste but not too salty that you can't drink a lethal dose. Drinking the whole 75 ml would be unpleasant but nothing like bleach.

(For the moral police already sprinting to their keyboards : no I am not promoting taste-testing your SN. I did this with full knowledge of the risk and I do not encourage you to taste-test your SN.)

I thought that maybe somehow the SN reacted with the plastic cup that I had used so I tried again in the same cup that I had used on my attempt (though I did not taste it this time. I'm dumb but not restarted!). It didn't smell like bleach either.

Soooo to this day I'm confused as to what in my environment could have laced my drink and given it its terrible taste.. But the conclusion to this story is that SN tasting like bleach is not normal ; it did not happen because BM brand gave me a laced batch ; be careful of the things that could temper with your drink but if your mixture doesn't have a strong bleach smell (I'm talking like corrosive even 15 cm away from the cup) then you're good to drink it ; and most importantly I'm so sorry for uselessly scaring the SaSu community! 😭❤️❤️❤️ Especially you my dear @bankai! I'm feeling a bit dumb rn but I guess things like this happen, right? 😅

Could of been something in your water at the moment. My water utility will do this occasionally, as in pump the water full of something that tastes strongly of chlorine to keep the pipes fresh or whatnot.

Literally tastes like a pool even after being filtered.

Thanks for your post, the answer may lie in the water! I'll definitely add a water quality check to my protocol that's for sure 😆

Given how little water is involved, a decent bottled water may remove any doubt on the water front ?

My BM SN also has the expected strong salty taste, not far off normal salt, perhaps not quite as intense, idk, I only dabbed a tiny amount on a finger to taste (and yes, as you say, do NOT test ingest SN. See the posts about it. It's lethal in very small amounts).

might be the chlorine in your water supply? the apartment i live in usually have times where the chlorine on the water smells so strongly (very randomly too) so it might be that.
