Random & Odd Anti-Drug Cartoons

I went down a rabbit hole of anti-drug commercials and thought I would share some for no particular reason. These are authentic commercials and/ or PSAs that were released between the 1960s and the 1990s.

Did you guys do the D.A.R.E program in school?? I remember doing it and now I smoke meth so something went very wrong. Anyway, if you want you can share your thoughts on these videos or not.

Oh wait Im adding this here: did you know that from a research study they found people view drug addicts more negatively than those with mental illness?

Not only did they find that respondents had significantly more negative opinions about those with drug addiction than those with mental illness, the researchers found much higher levels of public opposition to policies that might help drug addicts in their recovery.

I added this last one just because I used to know someone just like that… well except he was on meth, but anyway. It also made me laugh for the first time in a very long time, somehow it broke through the anhedonia I think because its uncanny how similar someone I used to know is to that character :0 (also the soccer slander is relatable)

Anti smoking commercial in THE 70s? thats crazy. i had school teachings like "kids dont take random pills from strangers" but unfortunetly there wasnt any stranger giving out MDMA to kids

I grew up with D.A.R.E being preached but its like that quote, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink." Never stopped me, albeit I don't do HARD drugs though, that shit still scares me.

I did a summer camp related to or associated with D.A.R.E in some way, it was horrible except for the food

also I have been for years looking for that Jim Carrey D.A.R.E infomercial it used to come on every Saturday morning on repeat for a few hours or maybe on a Sunday since there weren't any cartoons for the kids that morning

I only started getting free drugs after I started taking drugs. I actually was shocked (I mean very shocked) with how generous other users are (mainly meth users) it was insane and kind of nice like it felt like I was a part of a community.
