Help Question about padding the neck and lubricating the rope for full suspension

What do you think about lubricating the rope and padding the neck with some kind of thin cloth or something like that in a full suspension hanging? I'm thinking about quilting so that in case of failure the mark won't be left on the neck. Thanks in advance
