  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Hey

So I'm more of a lurker/reacter than a poster/commenter. My chosen method will be SN or partial hanging. I was dead set on SN, but I recently had a dream that felt very real regarding partial hanging—anyhow, that's a story for another time.

I am aware that a lot of life insurance policies won't cover suicides, but I'm not up-to-date on that topic. Is that still the case? 😭 One of my very best friends wants me to put money into stocks and... IRA? Idk, all I know is she and her roommate/sugar daddy do this and live very nice lives. (he also works in the tech world.)

Is anyone else knowledgeable about that stuff? I'm curious about how I would word things in my will/final letters so that if I do put money into something like that, it will be given to whom I choose.

As much as I want to CTB like... yesterday, it'll probably be more towards the end of the year. I have things I have to tie up before I can complete my journey here on earth. ❤️

Thank you in advance for reading/commenting! Feel free to message me if you would like to do that instead of commenting.

Suicide still is not covered by a life insurance policy unless you've had the policy for at least two years. BUT you can pre-pay for your funeral and that will be covered no matter how you die. Never had enough money to say anything about IRAs.

Most life insurance policies have a claus in them where they won't payout a claim if someone commits suicide for a specified period of time from the policy's inception, usually 2 years. You can designate a beneficiary for an IRA, or any account, when you open it, and you can change it at anytime. Maybe stocks, too. Idk. But, obviously you can designate anyone you want to receive any specific thing(s) you have in a will. Of course any creditors, lawyers, courts receive their due before anyone else. And your burial expenses get covered first, also, before beneficiaries. Also, the tax man gets theirs first, if any money is owed.
