why can't you use lighter fluid? Does it cause more smoke or something, surely u will still have carbon monoxide regardless. People accidentally die from co poisoning surely some of them used lighter fluid to get grill going

I think you could use lighter fluid, but for some reason, 8chan users recommend BBQ matches. According to what I've researched on 8chan, it's better to use a chimney starter to light the coals and have them burn in the chimney until they're grey and not smoking before tipping them into a grill or metal bucket where they'll smoulder. If you're using the charcoal method, I recommend you do a couple test runs before the real deal.

You can if your not planning on using a starter chimney and burning them straight in the grill instead.,a chimney is only recommended because it burns the coals evenly.

I'm pretty sure that's why 8chan users recommend a chimney.
