I think that spending time on philosophy, science and art will be good for this. If I had not been interested in these during my process of moving away from religion, I think I would not have been able to maintain my sanity enough to be able to make these sentences. Systematizing existential thoughts with philosophy, realizing what our practical experience offers with science and taking a deep breath with art...
It's much more comforting to sit back at the end of the day and look up at the sky and see a picture of reason and clarity than a pile of blurry ideals (no offense). And once you learn to gain that experience, you can stick to consistent, pragmatic decisions even when you're feeling down.
