According to various accounts, there is a real and fascinating phenomenon called " psychogenic death ".
This is where a person just literally gives up on life and dies.
It is also known as" dysexistential syndrome ".
A person just literally wills themselves to die.
I'm going to try my very best to do this myself.

If only this could work for everyone. Would be nice if when an unbearable threshold of pain was breeched, I would just self destruct. It would have happened countless times already.

the name is not strange.. on popular culture here, its the "final step" (or final steps) after someone is totally broken through "evil-doing / hexxing" or whatever, related to Hoodoo. an apparently "healthy" person, with a carreer, a "promising good life" etc. suddenly goes insane, breaks up, drops everything , engage in uncommon habits (usually all self-destructive) totally changes personality and end up a savage.. and "goes away"

i can't remember the name of an american tv host who brought some practicioners, even searching there are more cases than i thought. but "suddenly" the staff died ... under "mysterious circumstances" people have been "studying" this phenomenon since the 60s i think
