If I pre-mixed my SN solution and kept it in a sealed water bottle, how long would it last? I don't think it'd be in there for more than a few days tops, and it's more of a last-resort backup I'm thinking of keeping on me just in case I end up surviving/hospitalised somehow. Better safe than sorry.

What's your primary method? More SN?

I read somewhere that it's good for a few hours, but that's probably just an estimate too. But wouldn't recommend.

Also if you get saved and hospitalized, they probably won't just place a bottle with a yellowish solution in it right on the bedside table of the suicide survivor.

Better just carry the SN in powder form, finding water isn't a problem.

SN, but I have enough to prepare 4 doses. More likely than not there'll be no need for a back-up tbf but as I'm living in sheltered housing and under close watch by family the risk of being found too soon is a little higher than I'd like.

If you're talking about dealing it in a bottle couldn't you bring the container it's in, seal the water in the bottle. Put and put what you need in a bookbag then mix it there? Bookbag might be obvious if the situation doesn't work but maybe there's something else you could use.

Anyone know if they could at least pre measure it then put it in another container, just mixing the 2 when they get to the location?

Aw man... My water bottle's tinted and last time I was hospitalised, they didn't think to check the bottle I had in my backpack which is where the idea came from. Fair point though, if it's not gonna last then the powder seems like a better bet.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking for the original plan. I'm planning on doing it in the woods so measuring everything out there would probably be a hassle. I'd imagine that'd be okay as long as the SN is kept in an airtight container?

I honestly don't think it would matter if we're talking about a day or two.

Putting SN in water is a dilution, not a chemical change. I wouldn't put it in there for a month, but a couple days? It probably won't do anything if you're sealing the bottle hand-tight.

This is an opinion. I'm not a chemist. But simply diluting the SN won't change things that quickly.

If I ever get hospitalized I want SN with me. They won't even give you any water if you may get an operation but you will have in intravenous water drip the entire time. And they check on your constantly. So you need the SN, a scale, some water, and and a cup to drink the mixture from. It's still not a good place to do it but sometimes you might have no choice.

That would have its own set of issues.

You'd need to be sure that SN wouldn't react chemically to anything in the IV fluids. I'm thinking of Potassium specifically (how easy does KNO form? I dunno)

Also your dose would be way less in an IV route than orally. Lastly, you'd have to make sure it was done at a time where you wouldn't be checked on for hours and staff would be minimal (After midnight and telling the staff you want to sleep through the night and not be checked on??)

Random thoughts.
