[Live Free or Die]

A place where I'll post poems I write here and there. Feel free to post your poems as well. I'll start with this one I wrote tonight.





Darkened waters and gray skies
Dried up tears and silent cries
Mother knew, but not quiet why
Why it was, I had to die

Another sunday, another grave
Someone else they couldn't save
They'll talk about being brave
What they took, what they gave

Dressed in black they'll attend
Not one of them was a friend
For just today they'll pretend
What they don't comprehend

They're the reason that I left
A sad and lonely death
After all, I was just a guest
I always was such a mess

I had to find my real home
It wasn't here, this was known
I wouldn't have felt so alone
With no one to call my own

Close my eyes, a reverie
Melding into my memory
Leaving behind humanity
And all of their treachery

I like your poems ... the deep melancholy and longing woven through their verses.

I am reminded of some of my own writings I occasionally leave under my 'recluse' thread ... 'after all, I was just a guest' ... as was I. Great poem.

The time has come the time is now
Pick a place and pick how
Say goodbye to those that care
Even those with no one there
We'll be gone we won't be missed
Promise me one last kiss
Hold my hand and take the leap
Trust your heart and not your feet
Our bodies fall but our souls will fly
To the heavens through the sky
From the darkness to the light
It's finally over no more fight
Nirvana and serenity
Emotions washing over me
One last thing for me to say
In front of God, it's judgement day
You were my sun and my moon
And in the end I was your doom

Thank you for always loving me

You deserved much better than me
